The Differentiator

A true 360° view of banking, by design

Very few professionals globally have worked across Software Engineering, Government, Retail & Investment Banking, and AI-driven Transformation — at enterprise scale, across leading Indian and global brands, spanning Asia, Europe, the UK and the Americas.

That convergence is the core of how Guneet works: she looks at every initiative the way an engineer, a regulator, an operator and a technologist each would — at once, and across borders.

  • Software Engineering — B.Tech, Computer Engineering; ASP.Net, Oracle, systems delivery
  • Core, Branch & Government Banking — a decade inside a public-sector bank
  • Global Investment Banking — Barclays & BNY, enterprise transformation across the UK & US
  • Open Banking, Cross-Border Payments & AI — PSD2, ISO 20022, GenAI, RegTech
  • Cross-Border Reach — hands-on delivery experience spanning Asia, Europe, the UK and North America

Profile

A 360-degree career, one operating principle

Guneet's path began in software engineering, moved into a decade of frontline leadership inside a government-owned bank, and now operates at the intersection of product, regulation and AI inside two of the world's largest financial institutions. That range gives her a genuine 360-degree view of banking — fluent across business, operations, risk, compliance, governance, cross-border payments and technology — a perspective very few careers, in India or globally, ever combine.

At BNY, she leads functional and regulatory transformation for PSD2/Open Banking, covering TPP APIs, consent lifecycle management and ISO 20022 payment flows, while staying close to how AI, tokenization and next-generation banking platforms are reshaping the industry across Asia, Europe, the UK and the Americas.

Outside the boardroom, she is a driving force behind Ninebee Foundation, where she has led women's-safety response work on the ground and now serves as National Head of its Stree Safe initiative — carrying the same governance discipline she applies to regulatory transformation into how the programme is run and scaled.

Stree Safe — women's safety, built from the ground up

National Head, Stree Safe · Ninebee Foundation
25+ yrsNinebee's community work
All-womenDrivers & medical team

During the COVID-19 pandemic, reports surfaced across India of women being harassed during medical emergencies. Ninebee Foundation responded by launching Stree Safe — an ambulance service staffed entirely by women, so a woman calling for emergency help would never have to fear the help itself. Guneet led that response on the ground and now heads the initiative nationally, aligned with the Government of India's Beti Bachao Beti Padhao mission.

"It was shocking to know about cases of abuse, even in ambulances — many that never got reported. We felt an immediate need to find a solution."
Guneet Kaur, on the origin of Stree Safe
